Travis Akers is a retired Naval Intelligence Officer from Jacksonville, Florida. He rose to national prominence as an advocate for veterans and military families advocacy, receiving recognition from the White House, Vice President, and First Lady for his work on the PACT Act. Travis has by-lines in Newsweek, Florida Times-Union, and Hola Sober, and has been featured in Washington Post, BuzzFeed, Fox News, The Advocate, and Huffington Post, and appeared on CNN and NPR.

Travis speaks frequently with community organizations, schools, and non-profits on veterans and military families issues, current politics, mental health, gun safety reform, and public education, and has provided testimony to members of Congress and congressional committees.

Travis holds a Masters of Public Administration from Villanova University and Bachelors in Organizational Management from the University of Arizona. Additionally, he holds a certificate in Congressional Communications from the Defense Intelligence Agency, and DEI in the Workplace from the University of South Florida.

He is an executive with a defense, intelligence, and cybersecurity firm, and currently serves as a national ambassador for The Laundry Project, Advisor for the Urban League Veterans Center, coaches youth soccer, and leads children's bible study at his home church. Travis is married to his beautiful bride Anna and has two sons, Tallan and Tanner.
